We need your help – we are seeking video footage of City of Sanctuary group activities and streams work!

We are currently creating a professional video documentary showcasing what City of Sanctuary is all about and to do this we are seeking footage of your City of Sanctuary group, its activities and any stream work you are involved in for a balanced reflection on the diversity of the network and what we do.

It is also a great opportunity for all of us across the network to have a series of videos for everyone to use to promote the work we do (the videos will be in 10 mins, 3 mins, and 1min20 for you to share on your own website, Facebook and Twitter/Instagram pages respectively).

We are particularly interested in videos that:

• Show how we offer a positive vision of a culture of welcome and inclusion to all
• Show how we create opportunities for relationships of friendship and solidarity between local people and those seeking sanctuary
• Celebrate and promote the welcome and contribution of people seeking sanctuary
• Engage people seeking sanctuary in decision making processes at all levels and in all activities
• Promote understanding of asylum and refugee issues, especially by enabling sanctuary seekers voices to be heard directly.

We are also looking for footage of awarded organisations or Sanctuary award celebratory events and anything which reflects the dynamic nature and diversity of the City of Sanctuary network.

When sending videos please:
Tell us:
GROUP NAME
ONE sentence on what the activity is (i.e. sharing food, art project during Refugee Week 2019 or School of Sanctuary award ceremony)
CREDITS: Any credits we need to give (i.e. to the videomaker)

Make sure:
Everyone in the footage has given permission for us to include your footage in the full video. (Here is an example template should you need a permission form).

Look out for the video:  
We will do our best to include as much footage as possible. We cannot guarantee all the videos will appear in the final edit, however, with your permission we can share your activities on social media and in future communications or on the website.

Want to get involved but don’t have any footage? 

If you haven’t any footage and you would like to take part in a related video project, we are inviting everyone across the network to share what ‘Sanctuary’ means to you

Simply use your mobile phone and film 5 – 10 seconds of yourself saying what sanctuary means to you, whether it is a cup of tea with a friend, a safe place to call home, or sharing food together with your community. Let us know whatever it means to you – we look forward to hearing your words! Start with the words “Sanctuary means…”.

These videos will appear as a collective video montage in the final video we create.
