Free resources to help you do more

Across the country a network of centres are offering support to people in their local communities, through English language skills, financial support, health and wellbeing information, UK democracy knowledge and more.

This network is coordinated by the Good Things Foundation, a social change charity dedicated to helping people improve their lives through digital means and community connections.

The network is free to join and offers free resources to any group or centre who wants to help support their local community too, along with opportunities to take part in different community-based projects throughout the year.

Some of the resources,  of interest to many volunteers in City of Sanctuary groups and people seeking sanctuary which are available to the network include:

English My Way – Free teaching resources for those who support adults with no or low levels of English. Great to support complete beginners to be able to cope with entry level I classes.

Voicebox Cafes – Make your voice heard by becoming more politically active. Some lovely resources on this course, some of which have been used in the City of Sanctuary “Sanctuary in Politics” courses

Learn My Way – Free courses on using a computer, browsing the web, sending an email and finding work online

Health and Wellbeing – Learn how to make doctors appointments online, order repeat prescriptions and find advice on specific health conditions

If you think your City of Sanctuary group could benefit from joining this network you can find out more here.
