More than a 130 supporters met to speak up for the right to work for people seeking asylum on Tuesday 16th of March. in the Glasgow #RightoWork Campaign Gathering.
The MIN Voices group of Maryhill Integration Network in Glasgow launched their new animation, Right to Work Voices of the People at the event.
Over 130 participants attended, including politicians, community activists and members as well as representatives from the refugee and the wider Third Sector organisations. Have a look here for the speech of David Linden MP for Glasgow East, who was one of the speakers at the event.
Other Glasgow politicians also present were Carol Monaghan MP, Bob Doris MSP and Alison Thewliss MP, who spoke of their continuing support for the right to work for people who are going through the asylum system.
The animation launch was a call-out to re-engage with the effort to ensure people in the asylum process are given the right to work, instead of relying on Home Office support. To join the campaign, visit the Lift the Ban website.
