ESOL Development Day – 21 May, London

Following a 2018 Government consultation, the Integrated Communities Action Plan includes commitments by the Department for Education and the Home Office to invest in teaching and learning resources for learners with limited literacy skills and little experience of formal education, in ‘pre-entry’ English language provision. As part of a project commissioned by the Education and Training Foundation, and delivered by Learning and Work Institute and Learning Unlimited, this event launches a new set of resources to support ESOL practitioners working with learners who are new to ESOL and literacy learning. The resources include a suite of teaching and learning materials, an effective practice guide, a screening tool and learner profiles.  The resources are intended for use in a range of ESOL settings, including for refugee learners. Who should attend?

– ESOL practitioners teaching learners at ‘pre-Entry’ and Entry Level 1

– ESOL curriculum managers and co-ordinators in FE colleges, Adult Community Learning and other ESOL settings

– Volunteers supporting ESOL learners in informal settings
