We look forward to welcoming you to a thematic event aimed at local authorities and their local partners to discuss issues around asylum and refugee accommodation.
We recognise that there are several concurring pressures on councils including the closure on Afghan Bridging hotels, the ongoing need for Homes for Ukraine move-on accommodation, the streamlined asylum processing leading to positive decisions, plans for increasing capacity within hotel accommodation, plans to exempt asylum accommodation landlords from vital housing safety standards…among others.
As such, the LAs Steering Group have requested that the next online Thematic Network Meeting on the 11th July 12-1:30pm provides a forum for discussion on various concerns relating to accommodation.
Following a scene setting overview, we plan to keep the majority of the session for confidential discussions on the basis of which we will draft a joint letter to the relevant Secretary(ies) of State highlighting our collective concerns.
