Prisoners of Conscience (PoC) is looking for City of Sanctuary groups who are interested to become referral agencies and refer prisoners of conscience to the agency for financial support. They support people including refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. PoC is the only agency in the UK making grants specifically to prisoners of conscience – individuals who have been persecuted for their conscientiously-held beliefs, provided they have not used or advocated violence.

Various organisations refer individual applicants to PoC. The funds help meet areas such as the immediate costs of living, medical costs, family reunion, education, re-qualification & resettlement costs. More information about PoC and how to register as an agency can be accessed here.
