With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, once again we are asking schools to use this day to share a message of kindness and compassion.
Join hundreds of schools and other organisations and individuals across the country to send messages of love and solidarity to people seeking sanctuary in our communities.
Design your own twist on a Valentine’s Day card, getting as creative as you can using the orange heart symbol which signifies solidarity with people seeking safety. Inside the card staff, children and parent/carers can write their messages of welcome and kindness to those who have been forced to flee.
You can then display these cards in a public place in school or somewhere else in your community or even ask a local refugee organisation if they can share them with people seeking safety.
Whatever you decide, make sure to take photo and share on X (formerly Twiter) tagging @SchsofSanctuary and on Facebook tagging @SchoolsofSanctuary.
