A very warm welcome to Leyla Beattie who is joining the City of Sanctuary UK team as our new Wales Coordinator.

Leyla is the founder and lead trustee of the Denbighshire County of Sanctuary group and has worked voluntarily with people with lived experience of seeking sanctuary within her local community. She lives in North Wales and enjoys making the most of the natural beauty Wales has to offer.

Leyla has recently made the decision to take a break from her teaching career to join the City of Sanctuary team. She is looking forward to working with the Wales network and playing her part in Wales becoming a Nation of Sanctuary.
