New Campaign on Refugee Homelessness in London

The Refugee Council has launched a new campaign, calling on candidates running to be the next Mayor of London to commit to new measures to prevent refugee homelessness in the capital.

They have published a new report, called Keys to the City which outlines how and why so many newly-recognised refugees face homelessness immediately after they get a positive decision on their asylum claim.

The Refugee Council campaign action is for people in London to email Mayoral candidates, highlighting the report and asking each candidate to commit to establishing a new fund that will support newly-recognised refugees to access homes in the private rented sector.

They will pushing the campaign on social media in the coming weeks in the lead up to the election on 6th May and would really appreciate others sharing the content and encouraging Londoners to take the action. See @refugeecouncil tweet
