Southampton Library services have been recognised for its welcoming initiatives and commitment to ensure people seeking sanctuary and migrants feel welcome and safe when accessing their services across the city libraries.
Southampton’s library service is the third in the country to be awarded such recognition.Working towards the award, library staff received Refugee, Asylum Seeker and Migrant training to ensure sanctuary seekers feel welcome in the cities libraries and so that staff have a greater understanding of their needs.
