City of Sanctuary has joined over 35 organisations who have signed an open letter to the new Home Secretary, Priti Patel, calling for a humane immigration and asylum system.  Key issues for reform raised in the letter includes the right to work for people seeking sanctuary, more safe and legal routes to asylum,  comprehensive asylum support systems, refugee family reunion, an end to indefinite immigration detention, secure the rights of European citizens and their family members and protect vulnerable groups and end the hostile environment.
