Call for support to end indefinite detention of immigrants

Detention campaigners are calling for its supporters to lobby their MPs to support the push for a 28-day time limit on immigration detention. Currently 78 MPs have added their names, but detention campaigners say there were still lots of MPs to lobby for them to add their names. The human rights group, Liberty can provide support on how to lobby or campaign on this issue.

The UK has one of the largest immigration detention systems in Europe and is the only country in the region without a statutory time limit on length of detention.

Liberty has also released a report into the cost savings a 28-day time limit would make. You can read the Guardian piece here.
