New Report ’Seeking Asylum. Women’s Experiences of Home Office Decision Making, Destitution and Mental Health Issues’.

A group of West Midlands grassroots projects, led mainly by people with lived experience, working with Refugee Rights Europe, launched a new report on 26th February, 2019 on ’Seeking Asylum. Women’s Experiences of Home Office Decision Making, Destitution and Mental Health Issues’.
This was to disseminate information collected as part of the shadow report submissions to the UN CEDAW Committee, in response to the UK State report, at the 72th CEDAW session.
The report is asking for change so women seeking asylum are not affected by violence and abuse due to their precarious immigration status. Please see more information in the report.
We hope that you can share this report widely, and read it personally. It is attached below, and there’s further information and links on the Baobab and Refugee Rights Europe websites.
