For the last year, Chester- based theatre company, Theatre in the Quarter has been working on a ground-breaking and innovative project, that through film and music, depicts the stories and experiences of young refugees and asylum seekers. ‘Walk My Journey’ aims to challenge society’s perceptions and stereotypes on people that have become displaced from across the world.
Theatre in the Quarter is working with six young refugees and asylum seekers from Eritrea, Sudan, Afghanistan, Iran and Chechnya, (now based in Salford and Hull), and over 700 primary school children from across Chester and Cheshire West. This mass engagement project will be performed for the very first time outside Chester Cathedral at 7pm on Thursday 29th November. Walk My Journey the film, will be available for use thereafter.
