The Distance We Have Travelled tells the story of best friends Amina and Khaalid and their journey to seek acceptance in the UK. On the eve of Children In Need, they must come to terms with their past in order to find where they fit in this place they now call home. Performed and written by young people, this story has been devised in just 4 weeks by the young members of Five Valleys Productions (5VP) with the aim of spreading awareness into the struggle that thousands of refugees are facing today. It was recorded in front of a live audience in Stroud, Gloucestershire on the 27th of November 2017. Original song: ‘Floating’ by Borrtex.
