Hello, my name is Megan and I lead the Schools of Sanctuary project at City of Sanctuary UK.
On Sunday the 26th May, I’m running the Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise money for Schools of Sanctuary. Every penny will ensure even more schools are places of welcome and support for children seeking sanctuary.
I believe that wherever we come from, we all have a right to feel safe. When I’m running I’ll be thinking about the brutal journeys children seeking sanctuary face, which are far longer and more challenging than the 13 miles I’ll be doing. I believe that when these children arrive here in the UK, they should feel safe in school and be treated with kindness and compassion. That’s what Schools of Sanctuary is all about – we work with schools more across the UK supporting them to create a culture of welcome, understanding and belonging for those forced to flee. This work truly changes lives.
I am calling for you YOU to get involved too! Show your solidarity – run a mile and donate a pound (or more) to my fundraiser.
There are hundreds of awarded organisations and thousands of supportive individuals within our network, if everyone each donated just one pound, we could together secure the future of this vital work.
Don’t want to run? Help me cross the line, chip into my fundraiser here.
You can send your donations via my fundraising page.
Thank you so much for running with me.
