Event description

The gathering is for all City of Sanctuary groups in the Midlands as well as partners and supporters. It is an important opportunity to share information and learn from each other – as well as to find out about critical national and international issues relevant to our movement.

There will be inspirational speakers, workshops and, as usual, plenty of opportunities for local groups across the region to share good practice, solutions they have found to common challenges and aspirations for next year.

Our venue will be Prospect House – the home of the University of Leicester’s English Language Teaching Unit which has dedicated programmes for sanctuary seekers and was at the heart of the recent successful bid from the University of Leciester to be recognised as a University of Sanctuary.

The themes of the day will be:

1) Increasing the participation and engagement of people seeking sanctuary
2) Working with Local Authorities
3) Using Streams and Awards
