In our regular FE Colleges of Sanctuary Network Meeting we will focus on the actions FE Colleges can take to enable and empower student voice, particularly for those with lived experience.
In this informal, conversational online meeting, we will hear from:
- Sultan Pliev, College of Sanctuary Officer at Cardiff and Vale College sharing about their efforts to create sustainable structures to centre lived experience student voice.
- Amanda Parker, City of Liverpool College outlining how they have enabled students with lived experience to attain student leadership roles.
We will try to answer the questions:
- How can we effectively and meaningfully hear from students with lived experience of seeking sanctuary, with a particular recognition of the barriers?
- In what ways can the wider student community be supported to show their solidarity for people seeking sanctuary?
There will then be opportunities for open discussion and the sharing of resources and advice.
