It’s been quite a year.
In 2025, our movement grew to 1,560 member organisations — a 22% increase on the previous year. 225 organisations received Sanctuary Awards, 35% more than in 2024, and across our networks, 12,421 people were supported through frontline services. All of this delivered by a team of 11.
The Sanctuary Award continues to create real change. Every single awarded institution has implemented policy changes to create more welcoming environments for people seeking sanctuary. 95% of schools report growth in staff understanding, and all awarded universities report increased awareness of forced migration and the experiences of people seeking sanctuary.
Our Sanctuary Ambassador Network went from strength to strength, with 96 active Ambassadors — 97% of whom say they feel they’ve contributed to this movement of welcome.
As we look ahead, what makes the biggest difference is knowing we have a reliable foundation to build from. If you’re in a position to set up a small monthly direct debit, it means the world — it gives us the stability to plan, to grow, and to keep building welcome where it’s needed most. Of course, a one-off donation is just as welcome.
