The Civic Engagement team at Queen’s University Belfast will lead this lunchtime webinar on Tuesday 28 April, from 12.30 to 1.30 pm, sharing their experience of developing and delivering Sanctuary Coffee Mornings at the University.
The webinar will be divided into two parts. In the first half, the team will introduce the Sanctuary Coffee Mornings initiative: how it was conceived, how the first series in the 2024–2025 academic year was shaped, and how ongoing feedback and consultation led to its evolution. They will highlight the transition into the 2025–2026 programme, which combines Sanctuary Coffee Mornings with a new format of Sanctuary Roadshows. The team will also share key challenges encountered along the way, alongside emerging ideas and reflections for future development.
The second half of the session will be participatory and collaborative. Attendees will be invited to share their own experiences, exchange ideas, and engage in collective brainstorming. Together, participants will explore what good practice can look like in different contexts and contribute to shaping a model for a Sanctuary Coffee Morning that is adaptable, inclusive, and responsive to their own communities’ needs.
