“Does Europe have a migrant crisis or are we just trying to ignore a humanitarian crisis?”

This is one of the questions on a paper boat appearing in London.  We are delighted  to learn about Bern O’Donoghue’s paper boat art project which is challenging the use of derogatory language and misinformation about refugees, migrants and immigrants.  She is encouraging  people to distribute  her paper boats with facts about the biggest refugee humanitarian crisis and to tuck these into places across cities and places where people might spot them.

City of Sanctuary is supporting this project and encourages all our supporter  to sign up via the Refugees Crossing Facebook page so they can receive made up boats and instructions for how to get involved.   We hope that Bern will join us at Sanctuary in Parliament on 1st December and help to encourage MPs to make such paper boats too.  She has already sent a boat to Jeremy Corbyn and Justin Welby in the hope they will feel inspired to get involved and widen the debate.
