The Refugee Council are  holding fringe events at both the Labour and Lib Dem party conferences focusing on the current refugee crisis.

 

Firstly in Bournemouth for Lib Dem Conference there is an event ion Sunday 20 September at the Trouville Hotel, BH2 5DH, in the Granville Suite, from 18.15-19.15. The event is titled “Crisis in the Mediterranean: creating safe and legal routes for refugees”, with Maurice Wren from Refugee Council and Andrej Mahecic from UNHCR speaking.

 

Secondly, at the Labour Conference in Brighton (recently City of Sanctuary launched Sanctuary on Sea), The Refugee Council is  joint-hosting a meeting with Claude Moraes MEP, Chair of the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee. The event is at the Brighton Dome, in the Founders Room, from 1-2pm on Sunday 27 September. Speakers will be Maurice Wren, Claude Moraes, Yvette Cooper MP and Gonzalo Vargas Llosa from UNCHR.

 

Both events are outside the secure zones for the conferences, so no passes are required and neither are ticketed.
