Vacancy: National Communications Officer
Thanks to a grant from Esmee Fairbairn, we are pleased to announce that we are seeking to recruit a part-time National Communications Officer to start early in 2015. The job description and persons specification is attached below.
The City of Sanctuary movement is working in over 35 cities and towns across Britain and Ireland where local groups in cross sector partnerships are committed to creating a culture of welcome especially for refugees and asylum seekers.
2014 has seen an unprecedented growth in the reach and nature of our work, and our crucial role in Sanctuary in Parliament and Sanctuary Summit have helped increase our profile and sphere of influence. The communications officer will work closely with staff, trustees and partners to help facilitate the scope and effectiveness of our message and tell the story of countless volunteer-led initiatives which make welcome a reality in the lives of asylum seekers and refugees.
To apply please send us your latest CV along with a letter which explains how you fulfil each of the criteria in the Person specification, why you believe you could take on the tasks outlined in the ‘main duties and responsibilities’ section. Please also explain why this job appeals to you and any special ideas you may have on what you could bring to the post.
Applications should be sent by email to [email protected]
The final date for applications is Friday 23rd January 2015. We hope to interview on 5th February 2015.
